Thanks for a great beginning. Here’s to next year

It seems like just yesterday I was saying, “Wow! We’re already halfway through the year!” And now here we are, with 2017 drawing to a close in just weeks. I know it’s a cliché to say that time flies but it really does.

Nine months ago we launched Spa Executive, with the goal of creating a media outlet for executives – and those with executive aspirations – in the spa and wellness industry. And, as you can imagine, it’s been a time of discovery, learning, and finding inspiration.

Since our launch we’ve explored subjects of interest, spotlighted many stunning properties, and had the privilege of talking with industry experts who have shared their insight on a variety of topics from staffing and aging, to branding and trends.

One thing we’ve been hard struck by is how supportive the spa and wellness community is of each other, and how interested you are in one another’s projects, comments, insights, and accomplishments. It’s truly amazing and heartwarming to see. I am in awe of this community.

Marc Cohen talked with us about his forays into extreme temperatures and pushing the limits of performance, Jeremy McCarthy chatted with us about how psychology fits into spa and wellness, and Julia Sutton talked about how to tell innovation from mere hype. We talked with futurist James Canton and wellness architect Robert D Henry, who helped us envision the Spa of the Future. We learned about ASMR, scent branding, and how sound contributes to your physiological and psychological wellbeing.

And now we’re drawing from all this and other sources to share the trends we think will rock the wellness world in 2018. Bugs? Cold? Meat? Maybe not exactly what some of us were expecting….

We can’t wait to learn more, explore more, and feature more of your beautiful properties, and your own stories. And we would love to hear from YOU. We would love for you to tell us what, if anything, in recent months you’ve liked reading about most in Spa Executive, as well as what you would like to see more of and read more about.

I’ll take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays, much joy and laughter, and a Happy New Year. 2018 is going to be amazing. I can feel it.

Thanks for reading.
