Take a look inside the Spa at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi

The new Spa at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is beautiful, tranquil, and calls to guests with bespoke treatments and wellness concierge service.

The recently opened Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is already gaining a reputation as potentially one of the finest resorts in the country.

The luxury brand, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, opened the breathtaking Maldives property in July, 2019, designed for those in search of luxury, leisure, and blissful escape from the everyday chaos of life.

The 122 all-villa resort – all villas have their own pool – spans three interconnected islands in the South Malé Atoll, including a stunning private island for those who prefer their own exclusive enclave with dedicated staff and amenities.

A 30-minute yacht journey from Malé International Airport, the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is surrounded by the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean and the natural beauty of the Maldivian scenery. Among the features are a Waldorf Astoria Young Discovery Park, 11 specialty dining venues, and a lifestyle spa and wellness sanctuary offering the Maldives’ first-ever Wellness Concierge service.

“An oasis of serenity and blissful indulgence, with therapies inspired by nature”

Set in what is described as “a botanical sanctuary surrounded by turquoise waters,” the Waldorf Astoria Spa features in 10 treatment villas over 10,000 square meters, and provides guests with a tranquil oasis in which to connect with nature and indulge in a range of customizable treatments.

Spa therapies use plants and herbs to “enhance, strengthen, cleanse and promote a sense of wellbeing and harmony.”

Therapies are categorized into three journeys — relaxation, rebalancing and results. The Signature Journey range is inspired by four elements: earth, water, fire and metal. “Ancient Healing treatments,” include a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage “for deep tissue relaxation and mood elevation.” And the blissful sounding Starlight Ocean Massage is offered in the overwater Ocean Pavilion, where guests can enjoy a massage under the stars and relax to the sound of gently lapping waves.

Target specific concerns with Body Therapy

A Body Therapy range by LPG offers treatments that target specific areas or concerns, such as migraines or irritable bowel syndrome. Also available are body treatments, including body polishes and wraps, and luxury facials by Carol Joy London, hair treatments by Philip Kingsley and beauty treatments by reputable experts. Guests also have access to on-site practitioners for private wellness activities, like meditation, yoga and Pilates.

Families are welcome in the spa, which also offers mother-daughter and father-son treatments within a Family Time range, while the Junior Spa Experience caters to young adults in search of some pampering and relaxation.

The Maldives’ first ever Wellness Concierge service

The Waldorf Astoria Spa also offers a Wellness Concierge service to create bespoke spa experiences and solutions through a personalized consultation process.

“We are proud and honored to provide our esteemed guests with the finest spa and wellbeing treatments, inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds us here at the Maldives,” said Angie Tai, Spa Director at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, in a press release. “Our Wellness Concierge is the first of its kind here in the Maldives and a great example of the True Waldorf Service we offer our guests to ensure a truly unforgettable escape.”
